Additional Resources

Since venturing into the world of vacation rental cleaning in 2018 we have learned so much and are regularly asked for our advice on what works.  We are more than happy to share our experiences and have found that owners appreciate anything that makes their transition into managing a rental property easier. If you have further questions or concerns please feel free to schedule a quote online, shoot us a text, or give us a call. *We are not a property management company and all information provided is done so suggestively.

Registering your vacation rental

Registration is required for each rental property through the city of Flagstaff.  Please click on this link to register your property and for compliance information. You will also be able to apply for the required tax license HERE .  There is more information for property owners and compliance via the city of Flagstaff's website HERE .

Community Concerns

As a part of the Flagstaff community it is very important that we respect the neighborhoods and neighbors that share space with vacation rentals.  Having a good working relationship with your neighbors really does make things easier for everyone. You can check out your neighbor's rights HERE .  These are the major complaints we have encountered and try our best to be respectful of:

-NOISE, especially after hours.  You can install outdoor cameras to monitor activity outside, just make sure it is listed in your rental description. Even something simple like a Ring doorbell and/or camera really do help and are relatively inexpensive.  This will also help you monitor if your guests are sneaking in pets or extra guests.

-TRASH.  We have a lot of wildlife in Flagstaff and if your trash is overflowing animals will get into it and carry it all over the place.  We encourage you to contact your trash provider and see if you can have a second trash can added to your property. This has become necessary, especially during the holidays. Getting your trash to the curb is also very important, especially if your home is in an HOA. Paying a neighbor to take your cans in and out  has worked well for some owners. Hiring an outside vendor like www.canmonkey.com is also a great solution. As the cleaners we can not schedule the cleanings around taking the trash cans in and out. We can however come to the property outside of a normally scheduled clean to haul off any excess trash if necessary at an additional rate.

-RECYCLING.  We have found that most guests are unaware of what our local recycling facility can process. You can visit https://www.recyclebycity.com/flagstaff/guide for more information.  Here is a quick guide that you can print out for your guests:  English Version  |  Spanish Version

-PARKING.  We do have a Winter Parking Ordinance. There is NO PARKING on city streets or alley ways from midnight to 7:00 a.m. The city of Flagstaff's Winter Parking Ordinance goes into effect on November 1st and will remain in effect to April 1st. This parking restriction is enforced whether it is snowing or not.  Please make sure that you advise your guests of this in case they have multiple cars arriving for their stay, otherwise they may be towed , and it makes it difficult for the city to efficiently get the streets cleared when cars are parked in the street.

-SNOW/WEATHER.  If we can not safely get to your property due to weather conditions then the cleaning will have to be rescheduled.  You can view up to date information on Flagstaff's snow and ice operations HERE .   For snow removal there are several local companies that you can register with to service your property, you need to do this far in advance. You can also find a lot of lovely locals willing to help you out by searching in local Facebook groups, the NextDoor website/app, or even craigslist. Advise your guests to be prepared to drive in winter conditions. In addition to shoveling your driveway, you will need to have your sidewalks cleared within 24 hours of accumulation.
